Q INTELLIGENCE

Governance tools are converting more buyer interest into leads

For years, one category led sustainability: environmental and climate solutions.

Environmental solutions have had the highest visibility, highest engagement, and highest conversions on KanataQ.

But governance solution providers have started to catch up, and are now converting more views into sales leads. Conversions are up 30% over the past month and 600% over the past three quarters.

The likely reason: buyers are moving from broad sustainability exploration to implementation needs. That means more demand for tools that help companies manage controls, accountability, compliance, policies, risk, and decision-making.

Environmental solutions still lead in attention. Governance is now gaining ground on commercial intent.

For solution providers, this is an important signal: buyers may still be interested in climate and environmental performance, but the stronger conversion activity is increasingly tied to the systems that help companies act, manage, and report with more confidence.

Energi.AI acquired sustainability advisory firm CEMAsys to expand its platform capabilities, client base, and international growth. The deal combines Energi.AI’s AI-driven climate data and reporting technology with CEMAsys’ ESG advisory and software solutions, reflecting a broader shift from manual reporting to automated, decision-grade sustainability data. Schneider Electric launched Resource Advisor+ for Climate Risk, an AI-powered tool to help companies assess exposure to physical climate hazards and quantify financial impacts. The solution analyzes risks across 28 climate hazards and 7 biodiversity indicators, identifies vulnerable assets and suppliers, and provides tailored adaptation recommendations, supporting better planning, investment, and resilience decisions within its broader sustainability intelligence platform. Persefoni launched a new AI-powered “Analytics Agent” feature designed to help companies analyze and understand emissions data through natural language prompts. The tool enables users to interact directly with carbon data, generate charts and tables, compare performance across business units, and explore emissions drivers more quickly, as companies face growing pressure for deeper sustainability insights and reporting. IBM announced the general availability of the IBM Envizi Emissions API, enabling companies to integrate GHG Protocol-aligned emissions calculations into existing systems and workflows. The tool provides Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations and access to global emissions factor datasets, addressing growing demand for scalable, real-time emissions insights without requiring companies to build and maintain complex calculation methodologies in-house. IBM also launched Envizi Emissions Calculations in Excel, a solution to help sustainability teams calculate GHG emissions in spreadsheets with improved consistency and auditability. The tool embeds standardized calculation logic and emissions factors directly into Excel, with prebuilt templates and AI-based data mapping to reduce manual work. Designed for teams early in their carbon accounting journey, it provides a practical pathway from flexible spreadsheet-based calculations to more structured, scalable, and auditable enterprise emissions management.
